Chiron
I have chosen Chiron, the wise centaur who tutored Heracles,
Jason, Theseus, and many other heroes from Greek myth to represent the sign of Sagittarius.
Chiron, the most well known of the centaurs from myth, was sired by Cronus who took the form of
a horse to impregnate the nymph Philyra. He was wise and noble compared to the other centaurs
who were wild and lusty, a result of being from a different lineage. The Chiron in my story
is an immortal who has grown tired of life and longs to surrender to the peace of death.
He keeps this secret from his companions, knowing they will try to dissuade him from his goal,
but his melancholia sometimes causes him to let slip hints to his plan.
